Cobra is an R. Ajay Gnanamuthu-penned, S. S. Lalit Kumar-produced action thriller movie in Tamil that was released by 7 Screen Studio. Vikram plays the title character in the movie alongside Srinidhi Shetty, Irfan Pathan, and K. S.

Mathi is a brilliant mathematician with the secret identity Cobra who uses math to commit clever crimes. Vikram plays Madhiazhagan, a math teacher who moonlights as a deadly assassin. His mathematical acumen and aptitude, combined with the chameleon-like ability to hide under a new skin, aid him in carrying out the most outrageous assassinations. One of the characters even compares his actions to those of a cobra, which can shed skin and a deadly blow when necessary.

Cobra had a strong first day at the box office, grossing nearly Rs. 18 crores in India on Wednesday. The first day is the fifth highest of the year, trailing only Beast, Valimai, Vikram, and RRR.
