Brahmastra has received its first review!
Variety’s Courtney Howard gives Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus a thumbs-up as she writes, “ He (Ayan) smashes up genre conventions as Western cinematic influences readily comingle with pure Bollywood razzle-dazzle. And though the story is occasionally overcomplicated and the spectacle excites and exhausts in equal measure (as even Marvel movies do), it’s a wildly entertaining jump start to a planned trilogy – touted as Bollywood’s first original cinematic universe, the “Astraverse”.
The film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will gross similarly to box office hits such as Tiger Zinda Hai, Sanju, Sultan, and Dangal. It is not only the biggest advance in global epidemic times for Hindi films, but it will also position among the top ten advances of all time.

According to a previous report by Bollywood Hungama, Brahmastra is the most expensive Hindi film ever made. The film is said to have cost Rs 410 crore to make.
Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, previously told indianexpress.com, “Brahmastra is a very significant film. As we know the last few weeks have been terrible for the Hindi film industry. We have had disaster after disaster. The sad part was that the films were not picking up at all. Shows were being cancelled, and this was happening for big star cast films. But the advance booking of Brahmastra has brought in some cheer and a ray of hope. Hopefully, things will improve starting with this film”.
Brahmastra had sold approximately 1.97 lakh tickets at the three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – as of Thursday morning, with a gross collection of Rs 6.60 crore for the first day alone.
In terms of its first weekend, Brahmastra sold approximately 4.25 lakh tickets, resulting in an all-India gross of Rs 15.25 crore.
Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, will be released in theatres on 9th September, 2022.
