R. Balki's Chup: Revenge of the Artist, or simply Chup, is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language romantic psychological thriller film. movie is directed by R Balki and Produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr. Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios) and Gauri Shinde. Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Bhatt star in the film. R Balki wrote the original story, and the screenplay and dialogues were co-written by R Balki, critic-turned-writer Raja Sen, and Rishi Virmani.

The film has sparked a lot of interest across the country. From the mysterious nature of the film to the inclusion of Amitabh Bachchan's original score, the film has piqued the interest and anticipation of fans.

The makers released the trailer for the inquisitive audiences on 5th September. Abhishek Bachchan unveiled the trailer earlier today.

Sunny Deol who plays a cop said, “It is a very thrilling story. It was a very interesting shoot for me personally. Balki’s vision for this story was so crystal clear that the film seemed to have its own pace during shooting”.

R Balki stated to Economic Times,“I had this idea for the story a long time ago and I don't know why I took so long to pen it down and get it to the screen. It’s a proper thriller that makes you witness the psyche of an artist and the makings of a murderer. It’s a project I hold dear to my heart and I’m very proud of getting to share it with the world”.

The trailer, which was released today, follows the journey of an artist who has transformed into a terrifying serial killer. In a grisly twist, the anonymous serial killer targets critics and engraves star ratings on their faces.

Sunny Deol sarcastically captioned it as, “For your review”.

The film is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2022.
