The poster also shows a glimpse of one of the film’s tracks, titled ‘Teri Talash Mein,’ and depicts various modes of transportation, ranging from a bus to a car to a train. However, the creators are withholding additional information.
The 2014 coming-of-age romance Yaariyan, starring Himanshu Kohli and Rakul Preet Singh, was directed by Divya Khosla Kumar. Yaariyan 2 will be directed by filmmakers Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, best known for directing Salman Khan-starrer Lucky: No Time for Love (2005) and Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane. Yaariyan 2 stars Warina Hussain, Priya Varrier and Pearl V Puri round out the cast of the film.
The makers of Yaariyan, the 2014 musical hit, announced the sequel Yaariyan 2 with a quirky motion poster introducing the cast.
T-Series took to Twitter to share information about the upcoming film, which will be released in theatres next year and wrote, “Cousins by blood, friends by choice! The sequel’s plot appears to be quite different from the first instalment, which revolved around a gang of college students. Yaariyan was a coming-of-age film about a group of college students who learn about love, values, ambition, and life as they embark on a quest to compete with the rest of the world.
With this film, Pearl V Puri will make his Bollywood debut, alongside Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan, Yash Dasgupta, and Priya Varrier. While Meezaan Jafri made his Bollywood debut in 2019 with Malaal, Yash is a well-known Bengali actor who will make his B-town debut with this film.
The film is set to hit theaters on 12th May, 2023.
