Freddy is an upcoming Indian romantic thriller film directed by Shashanka Ghosh. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Jay Shewakramani, Balaji Telefilms Ltd, NH Studioz. The film stars Kartik Aryan & Alaya F in the lead roles.

Dr. Freddy is a dentist with a traumatic past. He is also a socially awkward person who enjoys playing with his miniature planes, and his only friend is his pet turtle ‘Hardy’.

On Monday, November 7, the makers of the film released the film’s Teaser on their Official YouTube Channel named “DisneyPlus Hotstar” and wrote, “Sorry sir, kept you waiting. Freddy streaming from 2nd December. #ReadyForFreddy? #FreddyOnHotstar”

In the teaser we see the story of Dr Freddy Ginwala, a dentist whose life is a mystery. Kartik Aaryan’s character is described as “shy, lonely, honest, naïve, innocent, nervous, truthful, repulsive, conscious, and inciteful dentist” in the teaser. Kartik is seen treating the patients in a few scenes. In another shot, he can be seen dancing and sitting with a turtle by his side. A silhouette shot of a dead body being dragged around is also shown in the teaser. The teaser concludes with Dr. Freddy intensely staring at a patient and saying, “Sorry Sir, kept you waiting”.

Kartik Aryan took to his Instagram handle and shared his film’s Teaser video & captioned the post, “Welcome to the World of #Freddy Appointments open 2nd December 2022 #ReadyForFreddy !!”

The film, producer Ekta Kapoor, Balaji Telefilms, said, “This is the first time that Kartik Aaryan will be seen in a whole new avatar. We are excited to associate with Disney+ Hotstar and this has given Freddy a global platform, the audience can expect a roller coaster ride throughout the film”.

Producer Jay Shewakramani, Northern Lights Films, said, “‘Freddy’ is a film very close to my heart. We had an amazing time shooting it. When envisioning the film, we wanted to bring together several elements. At that time it felt like individually creating each jigsaw piece. But I am now proud to see that the pieces have come together perfectly and we have created a brilliant piece of cinema.
