R. Balki’s Chup: Revenge of the Artist, or simply Chup, is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language Romantic Psychological thriller film. Movie is directed by R Balki and Produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr. Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios) and Gauri Shinde. Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Bhatt star in the film. R Balki wrote the original story, and the screenplay and dialogues were co-written by R Balki, critic-turned-writer Raja Sen, and Rishi Virmani.

The film has sparked a lot of interest across the country. From the mysterious nature of the film to the inclusion of Amitabh Bachchan’s original score, the film has piqued the interest and anticipation of fans.

The makers of the film Today dropped the new song “Gaya Gaya Gaya” on YouTube Channel named “Saregama Music” and wrote, “It’s time to get drenched in the music of love and chemistry of Dulquer and Shreya, with this beautiful track! #GayaGayaGaya out now!

The song “Gaya Gaya Gaya” is a soulful love ballad in which Dulquer Salmaan and Shreya Dhanwanthary share some romantic and intimate moments in the rain. The video song includes scenes of Sunny Deol racing against the clock to find a serial killer who targets movie critics and tattoos rating stars on their foreheads.

The lovers cycle around popular filmy locations in the melodious, yet haunting track composed by Amit Trivedi and crooned by Rupali Moghe and Shashwat Singh, and there is a callback to vintage films, as Sunny is at his wits end chasing down a brutal murderer.

The film also depicts Guru Dutt's depression following the critical failure of his film Kagaz Ke Phool. In an interview with PTI, Dulquer Salmaan said that he was keen on seeing how this ‘experimental’ movie is received. “When Balki sir offered me Chup, I was shocked and said, ‘Are you really thinking about me for this role?’ Because it’s something I haven’t done before. It’s not typical in any form. I think for him also, it’s an experimental film but it’s something I am very curious about. All of you will also be curious about it when it comes out,” he had said.

The film is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2022.
