Heart of Stone is an upcoming American spy action thriller film directed by Tom Harper from a screenplay by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. The film is produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, along with Mockingbird’s Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn, and Gadot and Jaron Varsano’s Pilot Wave banner. Harper, Rucka and Patty Whitcher serve as executive producers. The film stars Gal Gadot, Alia Bhatt and Jamie Dornan. Heart of Stone is scheduled to be released in 2023, by Netflix.

During its global fan event Tudum, Netflix unveiled a first-look teaser for its upcoming action film Heart of Stone. The spy thriller, which stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, also stars Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, who makes her Hollywood debut in a pivotal role.

Netflix shared the film’s First Look on their Official YouTube Channel named “Netflix India” and wrote, “Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, and Alia Bhatt invite you along for the ride on their new film Heart of Stone, the action spy thriller coming to Netflix in 2023”.

The video opens with a bike speeding through a coastal road and a person walking in a desert. A voiceover says, “You know what you signed up for no friends, no relationships. What we do is too important”.

Next, we see glimpses of Jamie and Alia’s characters in the short clip. The teaser video features selected film footage and behind-the-scenes footage. In the video, Alia says of the film, “It has these characters that you connect with and feel for”.

In contrast, Gal Gadot describes the film as “a super grounded, raw action thriller.” “We wanted to make sure it was realistic so people can feel the pain,” she adds.

“There’s so much going on (in the film), and it’s on so big scale,” Dornan says.

Soon after Alia shared the first look on her Instagram handle, her fans were thrilled to watch her.

The plot revolves around Rachel Stone (Gadot), an intelligence operative who is the only woman standing between her powerful, global peacekeeping organisation and the loss of its most valuable and dangerous asset. “She lives off the adrenaline. She’s addicted to it,” says Gadot, about her character, in the teaser. Though it is known that Alia plays a key character named Keya Dhawan, other details remain under wraps.

Heart of Stone is scheduled to be released in 2023, by Netflix.
