The film Maharashtra Shahir is a biopic which will be produced by Kedar Shinde and will star Ankush Choudhary, a popular Marathi film actor who will take on the role of Shahir Sable.

Filmmaker Kedar Shinde, known for films such as 'Majha Navra Tujhi Baiko,' 'Irada Pakka,' and 'Jatra: Hyalagaad Re Tyalagaad,' among others, has announced a biopic on his grandfather, actor and playwright Shahir Sable.

On the occasion of legendary Shahir Sable's 100th birthday today, the filmmaker took to social media to pay tribute to his grandfather, legend of Maharashtrian folk music by posting a short video and revealing the title of his upcoming biopic, 'Maharashtra Shahir.'

Director Kedar Shinde Took to his Instagram handle and wrote,“आज ३ सप्टेंबर.. महाराष्ट्र शाहीर साबळेयाांचा जन्मदिन... तयाांना मानाचा मुज महाराष्ट्र शाहीर..."

Kedar Shinde’s daughter who will soon be seen enacting Bhanumathi Sable’s character in the upcoming film Maharashtra Shahir. Bhanumathi was the wife of Krishnarao Ganpatrao Sable, a well-known Maharashtrian folk artist. He wrote the state's unofficial anthem, 'Jai Jai Maharashtra Maza'.

The film is slated to release on April 28 2023.
