Padavettu is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film written and directed by debutant director Liju Krishna, Produced by Yoodlee films and Sunny Wayne Productions which starred Nivin Pauly, Aditi Balan, and Manju Warrier as the main characters.

The writer and director of the film revealed that the film was shot in his hometown of Maloor in Kannur, Kerala. A thousand people from the village were trained in acting for the film through a crash course.

The drama portray the relentless pursuit of the layman, the oppressed section of society who is in a constant struggle and fight to reclaim their unique identity and rightful place in a world meant for all.

According to the teaser, it appears to be a political thriller about the working class. Nivin Pauly, who appears in two different outfits, appears fierce and intense. The actor had gained weight in preparation for one of his roles in the film.

Earlier while speaking about the film, Nivin had said, "It's a story about hope, resurgence, and courage, and I'm sure the film will be received with a lot of love by the audience. This is a political drama, but it is also about the thread of humanity that connects us all. It also brings to the fore the triumph of the human spirit in the face of great oppression. The film has a universality that makes it relatable at multiple levels".

The film is set to hit screens on 21st October, 2022.
