Thakkar began her career with the TV show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.’ She rose to prominence after appearing in ‘Sasural Simar Ka,’ She was best known for her portrayal as Anjali Bharadwaj in Sasural Simar Ka, Shivani Sharma in Super Sisters, Netra Singh Rathore in Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara, Ananya Mishra in Manmohini 2 and she has appeared in over a dozen serials.

Residents of Saibag Colony, where Takkar lived, alerted the police, who broke open her door to find her hanging from the ceiling fan with a piece of cloth in her room, police officer RD Kanwa told news agency PTI.

“She was rushed to MY Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The body has been sent for post-mortem. A suicide note was found in her room but its contents cannot be divulged now as it is a matter of probe,” was quoted as saying.

A day after noted TV actor Vaishali Thakkar allegedly committed suicide at her house in Indore, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said the state police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against a couple residing in her neighbourhood. Thakkar (29) was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a stole in her house in Indore's Saibag Colony on Sunday, according to police.

According to Indore Police Commissioner Hari Narayan Mishra, quoted by Hindi TV channel Aaj Tak, the suicide note mentioned a gentleman who could be connected to the circumstances leading to her death. According to the channel, the gentleman is an acquaintance of Takkar’s family and lives in the same neighbourhood as Takkar, and he was allegedly harassing Takkar.

A five-page suicide note was found at the spot in which Vaishali named Rahul for harassing her, Assistant Commissioner of Police Moti-ur-Rehman told PTI in Indore. Mishra told reporters in Bhopal on Monday that a case under Indian Penal Code Section 306 (abetment of suicide) was filed against her neighbour Rahul Navlani and his wife Disha in the matter, and that further investigation is underway.

The accused couple was not discovered at their Indore residence. According to the police official, they had gone somewhere after locking the house.

He claimed that the actor’s family members claimed that Rahul Navlani had been bothering her since learning about her marriage plans. Thakkar and Navlani’s fathers are business partners, and they’ve known each other for a long time, according to Thakkar. The couple was charged with abetment and instigation to commit suicide, he said.

Meanwhile, Takkar’s friends, actor Vikas Sethi and his wife Jhanvi Rana, told ETimes that they spoke to her on Saturday. The actress, who was set to marry a software engineer from California in December, had planned to visit Mumbai for wedding shopping.

The actor was a native of Mahidpur town in the Ujjain district. She had been living in Indore for the last three years, sources said.
