Ponniyin Selvan: I is a forthcoming Indian Tamil-language epic period action film directed by Mani Ratnam and co-written by Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan. It is the first of two films based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan, produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran through Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.

Ponniyin Selvan’s story is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s fiction novel of the same name. The story follows Rajaraja Chola I of the Chola dynasty.

The first look at Prakash Raj as Sundara Chozhar, Jayachitra as Sembiyan Maadevi, and Rahman as Madhurantakan from the historical drama was released earlier before this week by the makers of the film.

While they are all dressed historically, they all have one thing in common: a determination that can be seen in their eyes.

The makers of the film released the film’s Lyric Video “Raachasa Mavaya” on Tuesday, September 13th on YouTube in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malyalam and Hindi.

Sobhita Dhulipala appeared in the song 'Raachasa Mavaya.' Shobhita's performance in the song teasing her brother-in-law was impressive. Karti's expressions were tense as well.
