Saakini Daakini is an upcoming 2022 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by Sudheer Varma and produced by Suresh Productions, Guru Films, and Kross Pictures. The film is an official remake of the 2017 South Korean film Midnight Runners, and stars Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. The music for the film was composed by Mikey McCleary.
The Korean action film was told from the perspectives of two young male protagonists. This story is recreated through the female protagonists in the Telugu film.
Regina was the first to sign, and Nivetha quickly followed. Regina portrays an uptight trainee who is particular about cleanliness, whereas Nivetha portrays a more laid-back character.
The makers of the film shared the Official Trailer on their Official YouTube Channel named “Guru Films” and wrote, “After delivering a smashing hit ‘Oh Baby!’, Suresh Productions, Guru Films and Kross Pictures have joined forces for their official remake of South Korean action-comedy film Midnight Runners. D. Suresh Babu, Sunitha Tati and Hyunwoo Thomas Kim are producing the movie. Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas have played the lead roles in the movie helmed by the very talented director Sudheer Varma.
Saakini Daakini will be releasing in theatres on September, 16th”.

Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas play trainee cops who end up in the middle of the action while attempting to save a teenage girl. During the investigation, they come across a gang that operates an unfertilized egg harvesting ring.
Aside from the fact that Saakini Daakini is carried by its female characters, Regina was drawn to the story about the egg harvesting racket: “I used to wonder if such incidents happened in India but recently, I came across news reports that confirmed similar rackets in Tamil Nadu. We have often heard about illegal organ harvesting, but this is a relatively new topic. I hope the film helps to raise awareness about the issue”.
Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas starrer Saakini Daakini is all set to hit screens worldwide on September 16, 2022.
