Watch the Diwali Trailer below
The trailer showed Ajay Devgn’s Chitragupta, dressed in traditional garbs, approaching a confused Sidharth Malhotra who has crows defecating on him. Chitragupta aka CG talks to Sidharth in Sanskrit, but changes the language, look, and appearance of the Yamlok after he fails to understand the language. Chitragupta says, “See, this is why we stay like this, so you guys can understand”.
The trailer, like the first, follo”s the “game of life” as played by modern-day Chitragupt (Ajay Devgn) and Sidharth Malhotra, who is here to atone for his sins. Ajay Devgn introduces himself as “CG” as in Chitragupt in the trailer. Chitragupta informs Sidharth that they will be playing a game, prompting the latter to express surprise that game shows have begun to appear in India as well. Chitragupta makes a not-so-subtle reference to KBC when he says Amitabh Bachchan passed the exam at Yamlok and returned to earth with the idea for the game show.
“They (game shows) started here only,” says Chitragupta. Wo aapke superstar hain na, lambe se, yahin aaye the (Your superstar, the tall one, came here only). He played the game, won it, and returned. But he stole our idea. When he fell, he started his own game show. “What is its name?” A Yamdoot informs him that the game show is called KMC, and Sidharth Is about to correct him when the scene cuts to him fighting for his life in a hospital room. The trailer concludes with Chitragupta teaching Sidharth a life lesson, asking him why he keeps crying over the same issue when he can’t laugh at the same joke twice.
The Trailer has already crossed 3.7 Million Views in few hours and is expected to gain more views. Rakul Preet Singh also appears as Sidharth’s cop wife in Thank God. It depicts Chitragupta presenting an account of his deeds to Sidharth while deciding whether to keep him in hell or return him to Earth.
Ajay Devgn took to his Instagram handle and shared the film’s Second Trailer and wrote, “No one can outrun their karma or ME! #ThankGod is on its way to make your Diwali more extravagant. #ThankGodDiwaliTrailer out now. In cinemas on 25th October”.

The film is heavily reliant on VFX, with the entire set of Ajay Devgn’s court appearing to be shot on green screen. Ajay looks dapper as Chitragupt, while Rakul plays Sidharth’s wife Aaruhi Kapoor. It also features a special appearance by Nora Fatehi in a song that is the official Hindi remake of Sri Lankan singer Yohani’s popular song Manike Mage Hithe.
Thank God is an incredibly funny slice-of-life comedy with a message that promises to be a big Diwali hit. The film will not only make you laugh, but it will also leave you with a beautiful message at the end.
However, Ajay is working on his third project with Rakul. They have previously worked together on De De Pyaar De and Runway 34. Sidharth and Rakul have previously worked together in Aiyaary and Marjaavaan. This will be the first time Sidharth, Rakul, and Ajay have worked on a project together.
Thank God will also face competition at the box office from Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, which opens on October 24.
THANK GOD will make it’s theatrical release on Diwali on 25th October, 2022.
