Amitabh Bachchan Inaugurates Smita Thackeray's 'Mukkti Cultural Hub' | Sonu Nigam | Shekhar Suman

This sure was one big star-studded cultural event in the city last evening. inaugurated power woman and social activist Smita Thackeray’s Mukkti Cultural Hub while the film fraternity extended enthusiastic support. While Amitabh Bachchan gave his blessings to the Mukkti Cultural Hub, filmmakers and celebrities of the likes of Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Sonu Nigam, Shekhar Suman, Gautam Rode, Pankhuri Awasthy, Makarand Deshpande, Ila Arun, Dolly Thakore, Guneet Monga, Indra Kumar, Archana Kochhar, Manyata Dutt, Neeraj Kabi, Mohomed Morani, Lucky Morani, Onir, Ramesh Taurani, Rekha Chaudhari, Sangeeta Ahir, Shiamak Davar, Ajay Kapoor, Sanjay Chhel and many others walked in to extend their support Smita Thackeray and her team. Talking about the initiative at the event, Smita Thackeray said, “Andheri does not have many multi-use spaces for artistic and cultural expression. This World Culture Day week, we have added a new vantage point in the form of the Mukkti Cultural Hub in Model Town, Andheri West, that will cater to the needs of people in Performing Arts and we are hoping for it become the hub of entertainment in the suburbs. I am overcome with felicity today that Shri Amitabh Bachchan and the rest of the film industry has come forward to support me in this cause.” After having relentlessly worked towards the causes of women empowerment, HIV-AIDS awareness, LGBTQ rights, environment protection and such others, power woman and Smita Thackeray is now all for propagating art and culture. Owing to the dearth of cultural hubs in the Western suburbs of the city, Smita conceptualised and created the Mukkti Cultural Hub in Model Town, Andheri West.
