Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra At Trailer Launch Of 'Jabariya Jodi'

The trailer of 'Jabariya Jodi' starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra is a fun ride filled with drama. Directed by Prashant Singh the film showcases the love story of Abhay (Siddharth Malhotra) and Babli (Parineeti Chopra). The storyline revolves around the instances of Pakadwa Shaadi which is highly prevalent in the state of Bihar. Eligible grooms are kidnapped by the brides’ families and forced into marriage, to avoid paying dowry. At the trailer launch of the film, the cast spoke about the unique concept of the movie and also shared their experience of working on the project. Talking about learning the Bihari accent the actors mentioned, "The team has helped us a lot to get well versed with the language so that audiences could understand it pan-India. Personally I enjoyed playing the role; our only goal was to make a different and fun-filled love story which is relevant as well as belongs to fantasy world",averred Siddharth. Sometimes we used to bust out in laughter as we conversing with each other in that language during the scene. "jo bhi hai hum tumhara jabariya shaadi karwayenge' and then the shot used to cut and we used to start talking in English. So that was the fun of the roles we were playing", Parineeti added In the past, Siddharth and Parineeti were seen sharing the screen space together in the film 'Hasee Toh Phasee'. In the film, Parineeti was the one who jumbled up Siddharth's life and here in 'Jabariya Jodi' also Parineeti is only the reason for all the fuss happening in the film. Talking about the same Siddharth said, " Last time we had come in a different zone and this time in this colourful world of Patna you will get to see a Jabariya Jodi. This time you all will enjoy more than the last outing because the concept is very much relatable . We have shown this 'pratha' ritual which takes place in Bihar in a very comical manner. It conveys a social message on dowry so it's a love story that has so much we haven't played before." Furthermore, Parineeti said, " I think after 'Hasee Toh Phasee' our pairing, more than individual got so much love as SidNeeti (name given by fans). So SidNeeti got a lot of love and we wanted to come together with something which will be different from the previous film." Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Shaailesh R Singh, the film also features Aparshakti Khurana, Sanjay Mishra, Neeraj Sood, Gopal Dutt, Javed Jaffrey, and Chandan Roy Sanyal. 'Jabariya Jodi' is scheduled to release on August 2, 2019.
