Shah Rukh Khan Unveils The Music and Trailer Of Marathi Film 'Smile Please'
Posted On: 28 June 2019Shah Rukh, as is characteristic of him, left everyone in splits at the trailer launch of designer Vikram Phadnis’ second Marathi directorial, Smile Please. He was all praises for the trailer and the music of the film. The film stars Mukhta Barve, Prasad Oak and Lalit Prabhakar.
At the event, Shah Rukh said that Salman Khan and he have known Vikram for over 20 years. He spoke highly of his designer friend and trolled him over the golden tie he was wearing, leaving everyone in splits.
No one does sarcasm better than SRK and he didn’t spare even himself yesterday. As he had arrived three hours late for the event, he apologised to all those waiting in the audience. He said he was sorry for coming late and blamed the traffic. He also added, tongue-in-cheek, saying that he wouldn’t have been on time even if there was no traffic, leaving the audience in splits.
He further said, “Backstage, I asked Vikram, 'Whether you made a good film or not?' But with my current track record of films, I am no one to ask him that. But when you work for so many years, you can be a bit patronising. He (Vikram) said, 'I made this film from my heart.' So I think there is no better film in the world when it comes from the heart. I hope this film reaches everybody,” Shah Rukh asserted. That indeed is SRK. Witty and sentimental.
Mukta Barve, Prasad Oak, Lalit Prabhakar, Satish Alekar and other members of the cast and crew were also present. Music directors Rohan-Rohan performed a song from the film. Interestingly, other talent from the Marathi film industry like Umesh Kamath, Priya Bapat, Avadhoot Gupte, Bela Shende and Manasi Naik were also present in full support.
Vikram Phadnis’ directorial, Smile Please revolves around the journey and life of a professional photographer played by Mukta Barve. Phadnis shared that the story is partly inspired by his late mother’s life. Speaking about it, Shah Rukh said, “There is a little bit of a biographical writer, director and producer in all of us. So some parts of our life always get reflected in some special films. I am sure that Vikram has made an extremely special film.”
Smile Please will be Vikram Phadnis’ second outing, Hrudayantar being his debut directorial. While Shah Rukh Khan had given the mahurat clap for Vikram’s debut film, Hrudayantar, it was Hrithik Roshan who kick-started this one back in March 2019. Smile Please is set to release on July 19.
