The Prime Minister of India is assassinated by her Sikh Security Guards on October 31, 1984. Politicians use this incident to incite public resentment of Sikhs, portraying them as traitors. Devender Singh and his family are trapped in their home as the temperature in their city drops. Devender's family seeks support from their Hindu friends who live across town after 24 hours of uncertain oscillations, helplessness, and with relatives dying and neighbours turning aggressive. Pal, Tilak, and Yogesh are on their way to save Devender's family when they come face to face with humanity's ruin. They see the carnage and spiritual hypocrisy that causes men to devolve into savages. Pal, Tilak, and Yogesh must first confront their own demons before attempting to transport Devender's family to safety.
