Ab... Bas! (2004)

Somiya Mathur lives in Mumbai with her father and mother in a middle-class home. Her parents split when she is five years old, and she moves out to live with her mother. Her mother dies when she is older, and she swears she will never see her father again. She shares a room with a middle-aged couple she refers to as 'Aai' and 'Baba,' and is acquainted with Niti, a restaurant owner. Somiya enters a beauty pageant, places first, and is crowned the city's beauty queen. This attracts the unwelcome attention of a mysterious man, and Karan Malhotra, a wealthy bachelor, comes to her rescue. Both of them fall in love and marry each other. They live an idyllic, wealthy, and harmonious life, and they have a daughter, Sarah, a few years later. Somiya receives a phone call from a woman named Ruby when Sarah is of school-going age, pleading for Karan's business. When she confronts Karan, he admits to having an affair with her but promises that he will never have to deal with her again. She detects another woman's perfume on Karan's clothes the next day, and when she confronts him, he assaults her. He proceeds to harass her and bans her from leaving the building. She enlists Niti's and her former landlords' assistance and manages to flee. Karan, angered, hires goons, places ads in newspapers, and enlists the help of his Police Inspector pal, Bhaskar Shetty, and knows it won't be long before he finds his highly visible, beautiful 5'10" wife and daughter.
