Barah Aana (2009)
Barah Aana is a real-life comedy set in today's Mumbai. A driver (Naseeruddin Shah), a watchman (Vijay Raaz), and a waiter (Vijay Raaz) are three unlikely friends in the novel (Arjun Mathur). The driver is an elderly gentleman who is stoic yet trustworthy. The watchman, who is in his 30s, is a slacker at work but otherwise a rogue. The waiter is a cocky young man with a lot of ambition. Their opposing viewpoints make for entertaining banter while they live together. A tragedy befalls the watchman at some point, and he stumbles into a crime as a result of a series of chance occurrences. He attempts to entice the others to join him in a series of such crimes after stumbling across a seemingly low-risk way to make good money and finding a new sense of self-confidence. As their personalities shift, the three play cat and mouse, but events quickly escalate out of control, taking them in a path none of them wanted to go.
