Chandni Chowk to China (2009)

In Chandni Chowk to China, Akshay Kumar plays Sidhu, a vegetable cutter at a roadside food stall in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Despite his father figure Dada's (Mithun Chakravorty) best efforts, he longs to escape his dreary life and searches for shortcuts—with astrologers, tarot readers, and fake fakirs—basically believing something but himself. When two strangers from China declare him as a reincarnation of a former war hero and take him to China, he finds redemption. Sidhu now fantasises about wine, women, and a life as a prince in faraway lands. Little does Chopstick (Ranvir Shorey), the devious interpreter, realise that he is being transported to the promised land to rid the Chinese village of the vicious smuggler Hojo (Gordon Liu). The rest of the story is about Sidhu's liberation of the people of the land from Hojo.
