Dattak (2001)

Sunil is a non-resident Indian who is married to an American woman. His father lives in Kolkata with Shambhu, an elderly servant. Sunil returns home after a fifteen-year absence to find the house locked and his father has vanished. Guilty as charged Sunil begins his search for him. He learns that his father may be in a nursing home. When he arrives, he discovers that he had died just a few months before. Sunil meets Satya Babu, a fellow inmate who tells him about his father's final days in prison. Sunil informs the elderly man that he wishes to adopt him as his father and invites him to join him in the United States.
