In Mumbai, Zaid Ahmed (Muzamil Ibrahim) is a bright, young Muslim police officer. He exemplifies good integration because he is dedicated to his work and is valued and appreciated by his colleagues and community. On the night of a deadly bombing at the New Century bar, he works relentlessly to support the stunned and shattered patients taken to the hospital. This night of confusion and death, though, takes a frightening personal turn. His wife, the lovely and enigmatic Sarah (Tulip Joshi), is discovered among the dead, severely injured. Sarah's injuries were similar to those seen on fundamentalist suicide bombers, which makes the case even more horrific. Zaid is torn between cherished memories of their years together and the inescapable reality that the stunning, intelligent woman he loved had a life far away from their cosy, assimilated lives together as evidence mounts that his wife, Sarah, was responsible for the disastrous bombing. Dhokha depicts the truth of terrorism and its incalculable moral costs from the beginning to the end of the film. It demonstrates a deep comprehension of what can seem difficult to comprehend. It is intense and compassionate, free of political prejudice and animosity, deeply reflective, sensitive, and felt.
