Kharidaar (2000)

Mrs. Purohit has been widowed for a long time. She has lost the use of her legs, is bedridden, and is not expected to live much longer, despite her desire to marry her daughter Renu and son Raj. Raj has gotten himself into some bad business, has started drinking and womanising, and she is well aware of this. Rena's obsession with becoming an actress is also something she is conscious of. She makes the decision to set the ground rules for Raj, whom she wishes to marry right away. Raj then introduces her to a young woman named Myna, whom she approves of, and the two marry. Myna looks after her mother-in-law, whose health improves to the point that she can walk around.
