London, Paris, New York (2012)
London, Paris, New York is a film that captures the angst of the twenties, the most dramatic time of one's life, when one must find a job, establish a meaningful relationship, and most importantly, form one's identity in the world. This is the story of Lalitha, a middle-class south Indian girl from Chembur (a posh eastern suburb of Mumbai) who is going to study politics in New York on a full scholarship, and Nikhil, a Punjabi, rich kid from Bandra (a posh western suburb of Mumbai) who is going to study Film Making in London on his father's money. Even though their futures are on different continents, they plan to hang out together one evening in London and discover that they are absolutely attracted to each other. Over the course of eight years, the film follows their personal journey and love story as they meet for a night in London, Paris, and New York. The film is divided into three chapters, each of which is shot in a way that reflects Nikhil and Lalitha's mental state.
