Revolver Rani (2014)

You either live by the gun or die by the gun in Chambal's hostile territory, a land of insurgents, politicians, bullets, and blood. Revolver Rani takes place in a violent world with no allies, only fragile alliances, and dangerous enemies who aim straight for the head. However, you don't always need to take lives to defeat your foes. Often all you have to do is go straight for their heart. The satirical and peculiar love story Revolver Rani is set against the backdrop of politics. It's about Alka Singh (Kangana Ranaut), a political party leader, and her obsession with Rohan Mehra (Vir Das), a rising Bollywood star. Gwalior's elections have just concluded, and Alka's reign has come to an end. Her opponents, the Tomar faction, have recently gained power and intend to use their newfound power to oust Alkabut first. The Tomars kidnap Rohan in Mumbai and transport him to Gwalior with the intention of murdering him. They're about to pull the trigger when Revolver Rani appears with guns blazing, saving his life. This film would bring the story to life by showing the audience what would happen if a political powerhouse fell in love with a Bollywood star and then had to shield him from her enemies. It's a very authentic satire, littered with dead bodies, love, and black comedy, that builds to an iconic climax set just before dawn in the Shivpuri Bird Sanctuary. Revolver Rani, even if she is deadly, needs love too!
