The film is based on the true story of a daring heist that took place on March 19, 1987, when an unknown man posing as CBI officer Mon Singh recruited 26 men and carried out a daylight raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai, stealing jewellery worth lakhs.
