The Last Lear (2008)

Amitabh Bachan plays a former Shakespearean actor who claims that Shakespeare's works are equivalent to those of film and literature. In flashback style, the film depicts Harish's moods, relationships, and success, as well as that of budding actress Shabnam (Preity Zinta) and his caretaker Vandana (Shefali Shah). The Last Lear, written and directed by Rituparno Ghosh, is an English-language film that is supposed to launch a trend.
